Tasks · Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions · Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy · Load and unload goods · Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials · Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment · Perform brake adjustments · Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle · Receive and relay information to central dispatch · Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption · Transport and handle dangerous goods Certificates and licences · AZ class license · Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks) Experience and specialization · Type of trucking and equipment · Tractor-trailer · Tractor-trailer B train
